This man is like an electro pressure cooker, bursting with steaming hot bleeps and swooshes. DM Barrett (aka Dan) cooks his sounds solidly, and fits in on the more dancier side of Squarepusher in the electronic spectrum. He has recently had a track out on the new European label Digital Native Attack, which combines his typical rasping basslines with electro sounds and rhythms that owe more than a passing nod of recognition to the 2-step genre. His music has been heard by millions – he had a track featured on the CD market stall on BBC1's Eastenders when Mark Fowler and Ian Beale were having an argument last year!
